Job summary

Airtron is seeking a detail-driven HVAC service technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair residential climate-control systems. You will inspect ducts, troubleshoot issues, perform start-ups, and document readings while ensuring clear communication with customers and dispatch.

The role requires 1+ year HVAC experience, EPA certification, soldering/brazing ability, and a valid driver’s license; overtime and occasional weekends may be required. Safety and service quality are prioritized.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year HVAC service experience preferred.
  • EPA Certification required.
  • Soldering and brazing capability.
  • Effective English communication, verbal and written.
  • Comfort using a computer, laptop, or tablet; basic email proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair residential HVAC systems to manufacturer and company standards.
  • Inspect duct systems and keep tools/materials in safe, reliable condition.
  • Identify system components, wire equipment and controls, and perform start-ups.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues, recommend corrective actions, and complete repairs.
  • Perform start-up/commissioning procedures and document readings and results.
  • Explain services and repairs in clear, professional language to customers.
  • Coordinate with the office to manage an efficient schedule and order parts as needed.
  • Transport and track parts, materials, and tools to job sites; complete documentation promptly.
  • Debrief every service call with dispatch/customer and submit related paperwork.

Join Our TeamWe’re looking for a detail-driven professional to diagnose, maintain, and repair residential climate-control systems while delivering clear communication and exceptional customer care.Core ResponsibilitiesMaintain and repair residential heating and cooling equipment to manufacturer and company standards.Inspect duct systems and keep company tools/materials in a safe, reliable condition.Identify system components, wire equipment and controls, and perform system start-ups.Troubleshoot performance issues, recommend corrective actions, and complete repairs to restore proper operation.Execute start-up/commissioning procedures, test system performance, and document all readings and results.Perform comprehensive system inspections; promptly communicate any concerns to dispatch and the customer.Explain all services and repairs performed in clear, professional language.Coordinate daily with the office to manage an efficient schedule.Order parts in advance and ensure you are fully prepared for each appointment.Transport and track assigned parts, materials, and tools to and from job sites.Complete documentation on a tablet or paperwork neatly and on time.Debrief every service call with dispatch/customer and submit related documentation.Clean the work area thoroughly before leaving the job site.Maintain a clean, organized company vehicle.Adhere to company performance standards and code of ethics.Provide courteous service to customers and collaborate positively with associates.Use protective floor savers over footwear in every customer home.Follow safety policies and procedures at all times.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED.1+ year of HVAC service experience.EPA Certification.Soldering and brazing capability.Effective English communication skills, verbal and written.Comfort using a computer, laptop, or tablet; beginner-level computing skills.Basic internet and email proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Outlook).Valid driver’s license.Ability to work overtime with short notice; occasional weekends.PreferredHVAC trade school certification.1–2 years of experience in construction, HVAC, or a related field.Attributes for SuccessEagerness to learn and contribute as part of a team.Positive attitude and collaborative approach.Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.Comfort working across all levels of the organization.Related experience may substitute for formal education.Strong safety mindset and commitment to a safety culture.Working EnvironmentWork primarily occurs at occupied residences and construction sites; minimal office time.Travel by vehicle to and from job locations.Exposure to construction settings: equipment, elevated work areas, confined spaces, noise, dust, hazardous materials, and odors.Indoor/outdoor work in all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, wind) with proper PPE.Physical DemandsOperate a motorized passenger vehicle or forklift.Frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds.Regular climbing, waist bending, crawling, kneeling, and crouching.Work at heights; climb ladders/stairways; occasional work on platforms/scaffolding with required fall protection.Wear required PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, reflective safety vests, gloves, and safety-toe construction-grade boots.Stand, walk, or sit for prolonged periods.Hear and distinguish speech/sounds to safely operate phones and equipment.Vision (natural or corrected) sufficient for close, distance, and peripheral focus with normal depth perception.Communicate verbally to convey information to others.Enter data on handhelds or computers using a standard keyboard or 10-key keypad.Use arms/hands to reach overhead and to signal, grasp, hold, lift, turn, push, and pull tools and materials.* Physical requirements may vary by location.Technical ProficienciesHVACHeating and Air ConditioningEqual OpportunityAirtron is an equal opportunity employer.
