Job summary

Tighe & Bond, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join the Mechanical HVAC Design Team in Westfield, MA or Woburn, MA or Westwood, MA.

You will help design mechanical air and hydronic systems, perform load calculations, and prepare documents using AutoCAD and Revit in a collaborative, hybrid setting. You will gain exposure to building performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability projects while working with experienced engineers and supporting field surveys.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s program pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Coursework or experience in heating/cooling load calculations or thermodynamics.
• Previous internship experience.
• Interest in pursuing the FE Exam.
• Flexibility, a positive attitude, and open-mindedness.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of mechanical air systems and hydronic systems including drawings, flow diagrams, and details.
• Support heating and cooling load calculations using industry-standard tools/software.
• Assist in the preparation of mechanical design documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Participate in construction site visits and field surveys of existing mechanical systems.
