Job summary

Tighe & Bond is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join the Mechanical HVAC Design Team in our Westfield, MA or Woburn, MA or Westwood, MA offices. You will assist with designing mechanical air and hydronic systems for Northeast infrastructure projects and gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

You will work with experienced engineers, perform load calculations, prepare design documents, and participate in site visits, building your skills toward the FE exam and

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s program pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Coursework or experience in heating/cooling load calculations or thermodynamics.
  • Previous and relevant internship experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design of mechanical air systems and hydronic systems including drawings, flow diagrams, and details.
  • Support heating and cooling load calculations using industry-standard tools/software.
  • Assist in the preparation of mechanical design documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Participate in construction site visits and field surveys of existing mechanical systems.
