Job summary

Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd. in Westminster, CO is seeking a Mechanical (HVAC) Design Intern to support the design team on diverse projects. The role focuses on learning to create construction documents, apply current codes, and document field conditions under the mentorship of senior engineers.

The internship emphasizes hands-on learning, collaboration with multiple departments, and development opportunities within the Bowman intern program. Salary ranges from $18 to $20 hourly with benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required.
• Enrolled in an ABET-accredited degree program, preferably in a mechanical or architectural engineering program of study.
• Interest in MEP design as a future career path.
• Introductory study or knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, TraneTrace, and/or eQuest modeling software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Design appropriate mechanical systems in accordance with current code requirements and sound engineering principles.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, project manager, and occasionally the client.
• Conduct field observations visits to accurately document the existing field conditions.
• Accurately produce the project construction documents to meet milestone schedules within a predetermined hourly budget under direction of a senior engineer and project manager.
• If directed, review all project related construction administrative items (shop drawings, RFI's, change order proposals).
• Review and learn codes applicable to the discipline.
