Job summary

Bowman invites applications for a Mechanical (HVAC) Design Intern (Summer 2027) in Baltimore, Maryland, offering hands-on experience across commercial, government, academic, R&D, multi-family, and industrial projects.

You'll work under supervision to develop construction documents, learn codes, and interact with engineers and clients while gaining exposure to AutoCAD, REVIT, TraneTrace, and eQuest tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required.
• Enrolled in an ABET-accredited degree program, preferably in a mechanical or architectural engineering program of study.
• Interest in MEP design as a future career path.
• Introductory study or knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, TraneTrace, and/or eQuest modeling software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Design appropriate mechanical systems in accordance with current code requirements and sound engineering principles.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, project manager, and occasionally the client.
• Conduct field observations visits to accurately document the existing field conditions.
• Accurately produce the project construction documents to meet milestone schedules within a predetermined hourly budget under direction of a senior engineer and project manager.
• If directed, review all project related construction administrative items (shop drawings, RFI's, change order proposals).
• Review and learn codes applicable to the discipline.
