Job summary

Bowman invites motivated students to join our Mechanical (HVAC) Design Intern team in Rogers, AR. You will assist senior engineers in designing mechanical systems for diverse projects, learn code compliance, and contribute to construction documents under supervision.

Applicants should be enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering program and have introductory knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, TraneTrace, or eQuest, with Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required.
• Enrolled in an ABET-accredited degree program, preferably in a mechanical or architectural engineering program of study.
• Interest in MEP design as a future career path.
• Introductory study or knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, TraneTrace, and/or eQuest modeling software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Perform work under direct supervision of an experienced professional and follow established procedures and clearly defined processes.
• Interact with multiple departments and peers within the organization and participate in intern program learning and development opportunities.
• Design appropriate mechanical systems in accordance with current code requirements and sound engineering principles.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, project manager, and occasionally the client.
• Conduct field observations visits to accurately document the existing field conditions.
• Accurately produce the project construction documents to meet milestone schedules within a predetermined hourly budget under direction of a senior engineer and project manager.
• If directed, review all project related construction administrative items (shop drawings, RFI's, change order proposals).
• Review and learn codes applicable to the discipline.
