Job summary

Southland Industries in Horsham, PA, offers a Fall 2026 – Spring 2027 Co-op for a Mechanical Design Engineer. You will collaborate with our model coordinators, estimators, and trade staff to develop HVAC/mechanical designs for design-build and design-assist projects across healthcare, education, biotech, and commercial markets.

You’ll also gain exposure to VDC, CFD, and field feedback. This hands-on program includes training on equipment selection, load calculations, and reading

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of HVAC and plumbing system design.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with CADD and Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic deliverables and calculations for HVAC systems under supervision.
• Performs basic calculations (loads, sizing, friction loss).
• Assist in coordinating design with project management, architects, and trades.
• Perform and check CADD drafting work.
