Southland Industries is seeking a Design Engineer I to contribute to design-build and design-assist projects across healthcare, education, biotech, and more. You will collaborate with model coordinators, estimators, and field staff to create practical, efficient designs and leverage VDC and CFD tools for feedback.

Responsibilities include basic HVAC calculations, drawings, and coordinating with others through project phases.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of HVAC/plumbing systems design.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
• Strong verbal and written communications.
• Proficient with CADD and MS Office applications.

Responsabilités

• Perform basic deliverables and products such as calculations, drawings, and specifications for HVAC systems under supervision.
• Perform basic project calculations (loads, equipment sizing, friction loss).
• Coordinate project design with management, architects, and other trades through completion.
• Perform and check CADD drafting work.
