Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Design Engineer intern/new graduate to help deliver design-build/design-assist projects across healthcare, education, biotech, and commercial sectors. You will work alongside model coordinators, estimators, and field staff to translate concepts into practical, cost-effective designs.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of HVAC and plumbing design concepts.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with CADD drafting and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic deliverables such as calculations, drawings, and specifications for HVAC systems under supervision.
• Assist in coordinating design work with project management, architects, and trades.
• Perform and check CADD drafting work.
• Support engineers in developing practical, cost-effective solutions.
