McCrea Equipment Company, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Assistant in Greencastle, PA. This entry-level role provides technical and administrative support to the engineering and design team, focusing on residential HVAC design and Manual J heat load calculations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with technical information, measurements, plans, and specifications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work with internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Manual J residential heat load calculations and related HVAC design calculations; training provided (6–12 months).
• Create and update residential house drawings using design software with building, construction, and equipment parameters.
• Assist in sizing equipment and developing duct system designs with engineering/design team.
• Prepare permit documentation and other materials for residential projects.
• Review plans and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Gather, organize, and maintain project information and calculations.
• Learn and use RightSoft and other software to support HVAC calculations and design.
• Communicate project needs with internal teams.
• Participate in training and continuously develop HVAC design knowledge.
• Perform other engineering, design, and administrative duties as assigned.
