Job summary

Beyer Air Conditioning & Heating is seeking an Assistant Designer to support the RNC Lead Designer and Construction Manager in residential HVAC design for new and retrofit projects. You will use AutoCAD, perform Manual J load calculations, and review plans to ensure cost-effective, high-quality designs.

The role involves equipment selection, sizing, and close collaboration with Construction and Sales Managers to meet project needs while maintaining schedule and budget targets.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in residential HVAC design.
• Experience with Manual J8 load calculations and Wrightsoft.
• Familiar with IECC and state mechanical codes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the designer, estimator, sales, and field supervisors on residential design projects.
• Perform and review HVAC load calculations, duct sizing, and system sizing per ACCA standards.
• Create working drawings of HVAC layouts from Manual J load calculations and Manual D design using AutoCAD.
• Procure materials and equipment for design and construction.
• Organize scope into major categories and manage deliverables/milestones.
• Manage data in Excel, Teams, and Service Titan; conduct job walks and on-site meetings.
