McCrea Equipment Company, Inc. (MEC) is seeking an Engineering Assistant to join our engineering and design team in Greencastle, PA.

This entry-level role provides technical and administrative support for residential HVAC design, Manual J heat load calculations, permit documentation, and related tasks. You will train on industry software, develop proficiency, and have opportunities for long-term growth and advancement within the engineering function.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to work with technical information and plans.
• Willingness to learn HVAC design principles, Manual J calculations, and software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Manual J residential heat load calculations and related HVAC design calculations; training provided.
• Create and update residential drawings using design software and input parameters.
• Assist with equipment sizing and duct system design.
• Organize permit documentation and supporting materials for residential projects.
• Review project information for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain accurate project files, calculations, and documentation.
• Learn and use RightSoft and other HVAC software to support calculations and design.
• Communicate project information and needs with internal teams.
• Participate in training to develop knowledge of HVAC design principles and standards.
• Perform other engineering, design, and admin duties as assigned.
