Job summary

McCrea Equipment Company, Inc. (MEC) is seeking an Engineering Assistant in Greencastle, PA to provide technical and administrative support to the engineering and design team. You will assist with residential HVAC design, Manual J heat load calculations, and permit documentation, while gaining proficiency in industry software.

This entry-level role includes training, hands-on experience, and an opportunity for long-term growth within the engineering and design function.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work with technical information, measurements, plans, and specifications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with internal teams.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Manual J residential heat load calculations and related HVAC design calculations.
• Create and update residential house drawings using design software with required parameters.
• Assist with equipment sizing and duct system designs for projects.
• Prepare and organize permit documentation and supporting materials for residential projects.
• Review plans and calculations for accuracy and completeness.
• Gather, organize, and maintain project information and calculations.
