R.E. Michel Company in Vienna, WV is seeking a Counter Sales associate to assist customers, locate items, and process invoices. You will support in person or over the phone, load orders for delivery, and ensure accurate billing and payments.

The role requires strong communication, basic math, and familiarity with Prophet 21. This full-time, non-exempt position operates in a fast-paced environment with safety requirements and regular weekday hours, plus some Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills with the general public and/or customers.
• Excellent attitude and interpersonal skills to service customers in the branch, on the telephone or at the delivery site.
• Proficiency operating a computer and Prophet 21.
• Basic math skills; understand markup vs gross margin effects.
• Ability to read invoices, catalogs, stock numbers and descriptions.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast and friendly customer service in person or over the telephone.
• Greet customers as they enter the branch and maintain a positive attitude.
• Enter customer orders in the system on the day the order is received.
• Pull orders from warehouse and load into delivery truck or stage for pickup.
• Process invoices and CODs, and ensure product leaving the branch is billed.
• Collect payments via cash or credit card following money handling procedures.
• Process customer returns and warranties the same day received.
• Maintain a clean, organized self-service area and displays.
• Assist with warehouse duties and safe material handling as needed.
