Job summary

Johnson Controls Federal Systems seeks an HVAC Controls Technician for our Oak Ridge, TN federal team. You will support ORNL and Y-12 facilities, maintaining Metasys-driven systems and central plant operations.

The role involves preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, system commissioning, training customers, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance on site. A technical HVAC background and security clearance readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial/industrial HVAC and building automation systems.
• Able to obtain and maintain required security clearances.
• Skilled in diagnosing and repairing control systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, point-to-point checkouts, and replacement of HVAC controls and building systems.
• Diagnose and repair electronic and digital control malfunctions.
• Test and modify system software as needed and document changes.
• Provide training and manuals to customers on controls operations.
• Support mechanical staff to troubleshoot issues and ensure safety compliance.
• Compile project documentation and certificates of completion.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, specs, and manuals to guide work.
• Adhere to Johnson Controls and customer safety standards on site.
