Job summary

Johnson Controls Federal Systems in Oak Ridge, Tennessee is seeking an HVAC Controls Technician to join our federal team supporting ORNL and the Y-12 Complex on a full-time basis. Our Metasys-based environment coordinates cooling for data centers, central chiller plants, and site utilities, offering a clear growth path for technicians.

As a Controls Technician, you will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, and documentation.

Qualifications

Experience with commercial or industrial HVAC equipment and building automation systems.
Knowledge of electronic or digital controls systems and BAS protocols.
Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, point-to-point checkouts, troubleshooting and/or replacement of HVAC controls systems and building control systems
Diagnose and repair electronic and digital control system malfunctions
Test and modify system software as needed
Document field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings
Provide training and associated manuals to customers on electronic control systems operations
Provide support to mechanical staff to troubleshoot issues
Ensure compliance with safety standards and customer requirements
Compile project documentation such as certificates of completion and training forms
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications and manuals
Adhere to safety standards on Johnson Controls worksites
