Job summary

Johnson Controls Federal Systems is seeking an entry level engineer to learn HVAC controls and BAS in our Oak Ridge operations, supporting ORNL and Y-12. The role starts as a Field Controls Technician with a clear growth path within the Metasys/Distech ecosystem.

You will perform maintenance, testing and commissioning on controls systems, document field changes, and train customers on operations while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Engineering as listed in the ad.
• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain government security clearances to perform site duties.

Responsibilities

• Conduct self-study and instructor-led training to improve technical proficiency in product lines and systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, point-to-point checkouts, troubleshooting and/or replacement of HVAC controls systems (BAS) and related equipment; most work involves Metasys and Distech controls.
• Diagnose and repair electronic and digital control system malfunctions.
• Test and modify systems software as needed.
• Assist with sketching and documenting field changes for engineering corrections and drawings.
• Provide training and manuals to customers on control systems operations.
• Ensure safety and compliance with standards and customer requirements.
• Read blueprints, schematics, submittals, specifications and manuals.
