Job summary

Johnson Controls Federal Systems seeks an HVAC Controls Technician for the Oak Ridge, TN area to support ORNL and Y-12. The role focuses on installation, maintenance and repair of Metasys-based control systems across large campuses, including chiller plants and boiler plants.

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial/industrial HVAC equipment and building automation systems.
• Knowledge of electronic/digital controls and BAS protocols.
• Able to obtain/maintain required security clearances (background/character, criminal history, employment).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, point-to-point checkouts, troubleshooting and/or replacement of HVAC controls systems and building control systems.
• Diagnose and repair a variety of electronic and digital control system malfunctions.
• Test and modify system software when needed.
• Assist with documenting field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections.
• Provide training and manuals to customers on electronic control systems operations.
• Support mechanical staff to troubleshoot issues.
• Ensure work complies with safety standards and regulations.
• Compile project documentation (certificate of completion, training forms, punch lists).
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and specifications; interpret technical manuals.
