Job summary

Johns Hopkins Intrastaff is seeking an HVAC Control Mechanic to maintain and repair building automation systems at the Baltimore campus. The role requires hands-on installation, calibration, and service of pneumatic, electric, and electronic controls in large facilities.

You'll work with Andover Infinity and Johnson Metasys systems, perform sheet-metal fabrication, and diagnose complex temperature control problems under general supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum five years journeyman HVAC experience in commercial/industrial facilities.
• Formal HVAC training from a vocational school, college, or apprenticeship sponsor.
• Training in instrumentation control systems for HVAC applications.
• OSHA safety knowledge and proper use of safety equipment.
• Sheet-metal installation, repairs and fabrication experience.
• Ability to diagnose complex automatic temperature control problems.
• Ability to install/calibrate/maintain pneumatic, electric and electronic controls.
• Proficiency with Andover Infinity and Johnson Metasys systems.
• 5 years related work experience; state-approved program may count toward experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, installation and repair work on instrumentation control systems (pneumatic and electronic) serving HVAC systems, equipment and components.
• Perform installations, repairs and fabrication of sheetmetal/metal components related to HVAC and other trades.
• Work under general supervision using the tools and techniques of HVAC technology.
