Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a seasoned Controls Service Technician 5 to design, configure, service, and commission complex HVAC building control systems. You will create diagrams, sequences, BOMs, and network layouts, develop and test software, and coordinate documentation for service execution.

You will load and commission controllers, troubleshoot with subcontractors, and provide operator training while adhering to safety and quality standards. A strong background in building automation is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in programming, installing, and/or commissioning controls systems including system-level controllers.
• Proficient with Local Operating Networks (LON).
• Knowledge of building automation systems and related subsystems.
• Experience integrating low-voltage subsystems using Modbus, LON, BACnet.
• Advanced computer skills, especially Visio.
• Ability to explain technical information to a non-technical audience.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, service, and troubleshoot complex building control systems at customer facilities.
• Create flow diagrams, sequences of operation, bills of materials, network layouts, and electrical schematics.
• Develop, test, and adjust software programs to operate systems per requirements.
• Coordinate drawings, equipment schedules, and submittals for service execution.
• Load and commission system-level and network-level controllers and verify functionality.
• Troubleshoot system issues with subcontractors and other trades.
• Lead field change information for as-built drawings and software updates.
• Provide onsite training to owners and operators on the total building control system.
