Johnson Controls is seeking a Building Controls Engineer in Maryland to design, configure, and operate complete building control systems with a focus on HVAC controls. You will develop software, commission systems, create drawings, and coordinate with field teams and subcontractors to ensure project success.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, knowledge of building automation and control protocols, and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; fresh graduates preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC controls, control theory, building automation systems and related subsystems.
• Experience integrating low‑voltage building subsystems using protocols like LON, BACnet.
• Ability to translate technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Proficiency with drafting tools and technical drawing software.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and operate complete building control systems with a focus on HVAC controls.
• Coordinate with field teams to ensure quality and timeliness of designs.
• Develop software programs and commission systems for project requirements.
• Prepare submittals and communicate with customers, consultants, and installation teams.
• Create drawings, BOMs, network layouts, and electrical schematics.
