Job summary

The University of Central Florida (UCF) operates a University Operations division focused on a world-class campus experience. We are seeking a Controls Specialist II to provide technical support, retro commissioning, and first-analysis of HVAC performance for coordinated operations and maintenance of HVAC systems.

You will work with intermediate HVAC and controls knowledge to improve system performance and energy efficiency, with on-site responsibilities at UCF.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 4+ years of related experience.
• HVAC controls theory, operations review and testing understanding.
• Proficiency with building management systems software and reading schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC BAS and related equipment to ensure continuous operation.
• Install, repair, recalibrate BAS controllers and devices for continuous commissioning.
• Update graphics, programming, configurations, databases and networks.
• Collaborate with commissioning teams to improve BAS energy efficiency.
• Assist in repairs across HVAC systems including chillers, boilers and pumps.
• Serve as first response for indoor environmental work requests.
