Job summary

University of Central Florida seeks a Controls Specialist II to support HVAC operations, retro commissioning, and first-analysis of HVAC performance for campus facilities. You will work on BAS front-end and back-end systems, implement control strategies, and contribute to energy efficiency improvements.

The role requires intermediate HVAC/controls skills, on-site availability in Florida, and the ability to collaborate with the Utilities and Engineering Services team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Thorough understanding of HVAC controls theory; sequence of operations review, design and testing.
• Proficient in Building Management Systems software (Siemens Desigo, Trane, Tracer Ensemble, Tracer Summit, Enteliweb, WebCTRL).
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, air compressors, fans and pumps.
• Experience repairing and maintaining digital building control systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on building automation systems to ensure continuous operation.
• Install, repair, replace and recalibrate BAS controllers and related components.
• Update system front end graphics, back end programming and configurations.
• Collaborate with commissioning team to deliver BAS efficiency improvements.
• Conduct minor repairs on pneumatic air systems, DDC controls, chillers, boilers and pumps.
• Serve as first response for indoor environmental work requests.
