Johnson Controls is seeking a Controls Project Manager for on-site leadership of HVAC controls projects in Indianapolis. You will manage design, programming, installation coordination, commissioning, and closeout, while guiding a team of subcontractors and technicians.

Strong focus on safety, cost control, and client satisfaction drives day-to-day decisions. The role requires deep knowledge of BAS/hvac systems, project scheduling, procurement, and field execution.

Qualificações

• Associate degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, HVAC Technology, Building Automation Systems, or related field, with at least four years of HVAC/construction project experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Automation Systems, HVAC Technology, or related discipline, with demonstrated project leadership experience.
• Hands-on design, installation, startup, commissioning, and turnover of digital HVAC/ BAS control systems.
• Strong HVAC controls knowledge with understanding of control theory and BAS operation.
• Experience in project planning, scheduling, resource coordination, subcontractor management, and field execution oversight.
• Knowledge of RFI, submittals, change management, and closeout activities.
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, sequences of operations, and schedules.
• Understanding of project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and earned value basics.
• Knowledge of construction safety requirements and quality control processes.
• Commitment to safety, ethics, and customer satisfaction.
• Experience managing scope, labor productivity, procurement, and project profitability.

Responsabilidades

• Lead HVAC controls projects through hardware design, programming, installation coordination, commissioning, and closeout.
• Coordinate day-to-day execution with subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and admin staff.
• Manage project financial performance including costs, billings, cash flow, and gross margin.
• Maintain regular communication with customers and develop long-term relationships.
• Review scope, directives, bulletins, and schedule changes; pursue change orders when needed.
• Coordinate procurement: materials, pricing, availability, and delivery.
• Oversee loading, device verification, system checkout, and commissioning of controllers.
• Ensure full system functionality and address issues for project requirements.
• Prepare as-built records, commissioning docs, manuals, and warranty docs.
• Provide on-site training for owners/operators on system operation.
• Attend progress meetings; report status and forecast revenue, costs, margins.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and legal requirements.
