Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an on-site HVAC Controls Project Manager (LSS) to lead control systems projects for assigned customers in a fast-growing market. You will oversee hardware design, software programming, installation coordination, commissioning, and warranty follow-up, while driving on-time delivery and strong customer satisfaction.

In this role, you will manage project financials, coordinate with subcontractors and technicians, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Six years of field experience in HVAC/Controls or similar building automation systems.
• Hands-on design and commissioning of digital HVAC controls systems.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical material to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
• Strong PC skills and familiarity with control theory.
• Knowledge of project accounting, costing and contracting.
• Nice-to-have technical associate degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead control systems projects from planning through closeout, including hardware design and software programming.
• Own project financials by controlling costs, billings, collections, and profitability.
• Coordinate with customers and keep stakeholders informed across all phases.
• Direct subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, and designers as needed.
• Manage material selection, ordering, and delivery schedules for projects.
• Ensure installation aligns with Johnson Controls literature and requirements.
• Complete loading, verification, commissioning, and as-built documentation.
• Provide coaching and technical support to team members.
• Deliver site-specific training and oversee warranty communication.
• Maintain long-term relationships with contractors and clients, and report forecasts.
