Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an engineer to design, configure, and operate advanced building control systems with a focus on HVAC controls. You will develop software, commission systems, and troubleshoot to ensure reliable operation on a major project in Sioux Falls.

You will create detailed drawings, sequences of operations, and materials lists, coordinating with field teams and subcontractors to meet project schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of three years of experience, or an associate degree in a related technical field with five years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the HVAC industry.
• Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems.
• Experience in integrating low voltage building subsystems using industry protocols (e.g., LON, BacNet).
• Strong computer skills, especially drafting tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and operate complete building control systems with a focus on HVAC controls.
• Develop software programs and commission and troubleshoot to ensure proper operation of the building control system.
• Provide submittals and information to communicate design and operation to customers and field teams.
• Create diagrams, sequences of operations, material lists, and electrical schematics.
• Coordinate drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
