Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Controls Systems Designer to design and program HVAC control systems, translating project requirements into hardware, software, submittals, and installation documentation while supporting commissioning, troubleshooting, and warranty response.

You will work under direct supervision, following established design standards, and collaborate with consultants, field teams, and customers to ensure project success with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• University degree and 1 year of suggested minimum experience, or 2-year degree and 6 years of suggested minimum experience.
• Experience with installing and/or commissioning controls systems, including system-level controllers.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude.
• Demonstrated advanced computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC control system hardware and software using established standards and project requirements.
• Prepare detailed submittals and documentation for customers, consultants, and Johnson Controls field team.
• Perform software programming based on established standards and project needs.
• Coordinate drawings, equipment schedules, and as-built documentation.
• Assist with loading and commissioning system-level and network-level controllers and troubleshoot with subcontractors.
• Gather field changes and update as-built documentation and operation manuals.
