Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a building controls engineer to design, configure, and commission complete building control systems in the Indianapolis area. You will work on fire, security and low voltage subsystems, ensuring project requirements are met.

You will develop software, prepare submittals and drawings, coordinate material deliveries, and assist in site training while maintaining safety and quality across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Associate or Technical degree with minimum five years of related technical experience in HVAC building automation.
• Experience with HVAC BAS, equipment and networking concepts (BAS), DDC controls.
• Knowledge of control theory and building automation subsystems from design to commissioning.
• Experience integrating low voltage subsystems using industry protocols; explainable to non-technical audiences.
• Advanced computer skills, especially drafting tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and operate complete building control systems (fire, security, low voltage subsystems).
• Develop software, commissioning, and solve issues to ensure proper operation.
• Provide submittals, drawings, and communications to customers and field teams.
• Coordinate drawings, schedules, and materials; manage submittals for installation.
• Assist in loading, commissioning of controllers; support owner/operator training.
• Participate in progress reviews and value engineering; uphold safety standards.
