Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a building controls engineer in Indianapolis to design, configure, and commission complete building control systems including fire, security, and low-voltage subsystems. You will work with field teams to ensure quality, timeliness, and efficiency while developing software and providing detailed submittals.

Preferred candidates hold an associate or technical degree with 5+ years in HVAC building automation; knowledge of Metasys and CAD tools is valuable.

Qualifications

• Associate or technical degree with minimum five years of relevant HVAC building automation experience.
• Experience with HVAC building automation systems, BAS, and DDC controls.
• Knowledge of control theory and building subsystems from design/installation perspective.
• Experience integrating low-voltage subsystems using industry protocols.
• Strong CAD skills.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and operate complete building control systems (fire, security, low-voltage subsystems) per project requirements.
• Ensure quality, timeliness, and efficiency; develop software programs and commissioning.
• Provide submittals to communicate design and operation to customers and field teams.
• Create diagrams, sequences, BOMs, network layouts, and electrical schematics.
• Develop and test software to operate the system per project requirements.
• Coordinate drawings and equipment schedules for submittals.
• Order and track materials; coordinate factory-mounting processes.
• Assist in loading, commissioning, and validation of systems; provide field training.
• Maintain safety and travel as required.
