Massachusetts Institute of Technology is hiring a Heat and Vent Instrument Systems Technician in Repair & Maintenance to repair and maintain the Institute’s HVAC and related systems. You will inspect, test, troubleshoot, and install electronic control systems, and maintain building automation instrumentation while documenting activities and updating work orders.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, five years in the trade or formal controls training, and the ability to

Competenze

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimum five years in the trade/field or formal controls training in mechanical operations and maintenance.
General understanding of Building Automation Systems.
Ability to read ladder diagrams, blueprints and schematics.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred: experience with Phoenix control valves; experience working in labs.

Mansioni

Repair and maintain heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration for MIT buildings and equipment.
Inspect and test HVAC systems to ensure proper functioning.
Troubleshoot, repair and install electronic temperature control systems and associated instrumentation.
Maintain diagnostics and documentation for Building Automation Systems.
Complete work orders with detailed comments and timely time entries.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on building equipment.
Keep work area clean and organized; maintain tools and equipment.
Provide customers with progress updates on work.
