Job summary

Montgomery College is seeking a FT Operations and Maintenance Lead to oversee HVAC and building automation system maintenance at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus. The role includes supervising staff, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 5 years in facilities maintenance (1 year in lead role), EPA Section 608, and Maryland HVAC licensure or 3rd grade Stationary Engineer license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or vocational training in HVAC or equivalent.
• 5 years in facilities maintenance with 1 year in a lead/foreman role.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required.
• Maryland HVAC license or 3rd grade Stationary Engineer license required.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and job orders; operate hand tools and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform maintenance and repair of HVAC and building systems.
• Instruct and guide staff; inspect work and maintain records.
• Calibrate and ensure Direct Digital Controls operate as designed.
• Coordinate with contractors and service vendors; respond to customer concerns.
• Identify materials and parts and develop work plans.
