Job summary

Varitec Solutions in Phoenix seeks an Application Engineer to support Outside Sales Engineers through design, quotes, and order processing for large HVAC equipment. You will assist with take-offs, submittals, and warranty materials while learning Varitec systems and workflows.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Controls, ECAD, and distribution teams, plus travel for site visits. Bachelor’s in a STEM field is preferred; HVAC experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field is highly preferred.
• Up to three hours of HVAC/engineering experience may substitute for a degree.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and general computer literacy.
• Experience in HVAC design or equipment sales is beneficial but not required.
• Willingness to travel for factory or site visits.

Responsibilities

• Support Outside Sales Engineers with project take-offs, equipment design and selection.
• Prepare submittals and order-entry documentation including warranty/startup materials.
• Develop familiarity with Varitec software systems and internal workflows.
• Participate in team meetings and reviews to ensure accuracy and alignment with expectations.
• Review plans and schedules to ensure correct application and design intent.
• Collaborate with Controls, Air Distribution, Parts, and ECAD teams for coordinated delivery.
• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and staff via clear correspondence.
• Maintain accurate records of selections and proposals to support project continuity.
