Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Design Engineer for its Transmission & Distribution group to design high-voltage transmission lines using PLS-CADD. The role supports multi-discipline teams and client interactions, developing construction documents and design criteria for 69kV-500kV projects.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in engineering, an ABET-accredited degree, and is EIT eligible with strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
• Minimum of 2 years’ engineering experience; 1 year in Transmission Line Engineering or related field.
• EIT required; ability to obtain PE licensure within 2 years is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE preferred; experience with utilities is preferred.
• Strong analytical, teamwork, and communication skills; ability to train others.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design and construction documents for transmission lines and related projects.
• Develop project criteria, plan and profile drawings, structure loading and foundation drawings.
• Estimate construction costs and specify materials; act as client contact to define scope.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline teams and drive project success.
