Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) is seeking a Designer - Transmission Line to design, build, maintain, and upgrade high-voltage transmission infrastructure. You will work on projects from inception to completion, using 3D CAD tools and applying corporate engineering standards to ensure safety, quality, and reliability.

The role requires knowledge of design standards, materials, and CAD software, with experience in 3D design packages preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design preferred.
• 5 years of CAD/design experience in electric utility or transmission projects preferred.
• Experience with 3D design software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work on design aspects from project inception to completion on various transmission line projects.
• Utilize 3D design software for transmission line design.
• Demonstrate knowledge of quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship.
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of his/her work.
• Research information in catalogs, specifications, corporate standards, or other reference material.
• Learn and properly use the document management system and suggest improvements.
• Learn and apply corporate standard engineering practices.
• Bring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the responsible party.
• Travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
