Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC is seeking a Designer - Transmission Line in Texas to support design from inception to completion on high-voltage projects. The role requires 3D design capability, CAD proficiency, and a strong eye for quality control across transmission networks.

The position reports to a Lead Designer and involves travel for project needs, collaboration in a team environment, and applying corporate engineering practices while maintaining safety and reliability

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the electric utility industry performing detailed CAD/design for high voltage transmission line projects.
• Experience with 3D design software (AutoCad Inventor, SDS, etc.) preferred.
• Word processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail software.
• Extensive knowledge of various CADD programs.
• Basic knowledge of the major components of transmission lines.
• Basic oral and written communications.
• Working in a team environment.
• Communicating effectively with co-workers.
• Able to deal with ambiguity and ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and determine priorities in a complex environment.

Responsibilities

• Work on design aspects from project inception to completion on transmission line projects.
• Utilize 3D design software for transmission line design.
• Demonstrate knowledge of quality control procedures to ensure high workmanship standards.
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your work.
• Research information in catalogs, specifications, corporate standards, or other reference material.
• Learn and properly use the document management system and suggest improvements.
• Learn and apply corporate standard engineering practices.
• Bring project-related problems and possible solutions to the responsible party.
• Travel out of town for short periods as required by projects.
