Job summary

Black & Veatch in the United States is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer – Substation to lead and coordinate HV substation projects across multiple sites. You will develop protection and control designs, prepare BOMs, and interface with clients, vendors and internal teams.

The role offers hybrid work arrangements, opportunities for growth, and exposure to EPC delivery for high-voltage systems in a collaborative, employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years related work experience.
• Pre-employment onboarding requirements may include background checks, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Lead on substation projects.
• Support substation projects up to 765kV in EPC activities.
• Develop protection and control designs and BOMs.
• Create yard layouts, grounding, and power systems for HV substations.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members and manage design budgets.
