Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer for EHV substations up to 765kV. The role involves technical leadership, design coordination, and collaboration with clients, vendors, and internal teams across multiple sites including Colorado and surrounding states.

You will develop protection/controls, create wiring and diagrams, and prepare BOMs while mentoring junior staff and supporting business development efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Pre-employment checks including background/drug screen may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation design coordination and reviews for high voltage projects.
• Develop protection and control designs for 765kV substation work, including relays and diagrams.
• Prepare electrical equipment specifications and Bills of Materials for procurement.
• Communicate with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders to align on design goals.
• Provide guidance to junior team members and support business development activities.
