Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC is seeking an Engineering Manager - Substation with a strong background in high voltage substation projects. You will lead the design teams, oversee project lifecycles, and support field operations, procurement, and key stakeholders within the QISG platform.

The role requires a PE license, ABET engineering degree, and extensive senior-level experience in utility engineering. Travel and leadership responsibilities are included as part of the position.

Qualifications

• Requires ABET-accredited engineering degree and PE licensure.
• Extensive experience leading engineers and designers on HV substation projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC/NESC/IEEE/ANSI standards and project controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from inception to completion, including planning, design, construction support, and closeout.
• Supervise a team of engineers, designers, and support staff, providing guidance and performance evaluations.
• Evaluate and monitor engineering contractors and consultants.
• Assist in selection, training, and coaching of direct reports to build effective teams.
• Assign tasks to project design team based on project needs.
• Ensure projects stay on budget and schedule with cost-efficient solutions.
• Oversee quality control to meet high workmanship and material standards.
• Ensure project team applies engineering standards (NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI).
• Perform quality reviews and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Collaborate with designers and project teams to develop solutions and modifications.
• Identify project-related problems and propose solutions to the responsible party.
• Travel locally and out of town as required by projects.
