Job summary

Mott MacDonald seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to provide detailed design for high voltage substations in North America. The role involves creating one-line and three-line diagrams, relay panel layouts, and performing critical AC/DC load calculations and cable sizing.

You will ensure design accuracy, mentor junior staff, and collaborate across multi-discipline teams. The position supports a hybrid office-based work style with regular in-person collaboration at the Texas site, while

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineer with BSEE or higher.
• 1+ years experience in protection and control for high voltage substation design.
• Knowledge of protective relaying and principles of automation and control for major relay products; can work on one line and three lines, schematics for protective relays including microprocessor relays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare one line diagrams, three line diagrams, and relay panel front view layout.
• Perform AC/DC load calculations, battery sizing and cable sizing.
• QA/QC on protection and control design packages to verify compliance with scope documents.
• Mentor developing engineers within the department.
• Coordinate design activities with multi-discipline project teams.
