Job summary

Mangan Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Power Engineer to support planning, design, and delivery of HV AIS and transmission line projects from 69 kV to 500 kV. You will perform detailed electrical engineering calculations, coordinate with civil/structural teams, and prepare IFC packages through the full project lifecycle.

The role requires a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, EIT, 8–15 years of substation or transmission line experience, and ability to obtain PE licensure within 6–12 months.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering (Power emphasis preferred).
• EIT required; PE licensure or ability to obtain within 6–12 months strongly preferred.
• 8-15 years of experience in substation or transmission line engineering.
• Experience preparing 30%/60%/90% design packages, IFC drawings, and construction support RFI responses.
• Experience reviewing vendor submittals (breakers, transformers, CVTs/PTs/CTs, bus supports, arresters, insulators).
• Experience coordinating with civil and structural teams on foundations, steel, cable trenching, grading, and access roads.
• Experience participating in FAT, SAT, commissioning, energization support, and field issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment specifications, review vendor drawings, grounding studies, conductor sizing, clearance checks, and coordination with field engineers during energization, FAT/SAT and commissioning.
• Support multi-discipline coordination (civil, structural, SCADA, protection, relay settings, and project management) to ensure compliance with NESC, IEEE, NFPA 850, NEC, NERC/WECC, and utility standards.
• Develop basis-of-design documents, calculation packages, and technical reports; mentor junior engineers or designers.
