Job summary

MeshGrid HR seeks an experienced Civil/Structural Engineering Manager to lead a team supporting high‑voltage substation and grid infrastructure projects. This hands‑on leadership role combines people management with technical oversight, resource planning, and project execution.

The successful candidate will guide civil and structural activities across complex EPC projects, develop engineering talent, and ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 15+ years of civil/structural experience involving high‑voltage substations or comparable power infrastructure.
• 5+ years of experience leading civil/structural engineering teams.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States with the ability to review and seal engineering work.
• Strong knowledge of civil/structural design for HV substations and experience with EPC or design‑build projects.
• Experience managing schedules, budgets, quality, and multidisciplinary interfaces.
• Familiarity with U.S. and Canadian utility standards and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of civil and structural engineers supporting substation projects.
• Manage staffing, workload forecasting, resource allocation, recruiting, succession planning, and employee development.
• Provide technical oversight for civil/structural design activities for AIS, GIS, FACTS, HVDC, and related high‑voltage facilities.
• Guide teams through kickoff, detailed design, reviews, construction support, and closeout.
• Review and approve technical deliverables ensuring compliance with codes and customer requirements.
• Support proposals with engineering scopes, labor estimates, and execution strategies.
• Drive continuous improvement through standards, templates, and training.
