Job summary

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide.

The HV SCADA Engineer II will provide intermediate level engineering support for the design, configuration, testing, and commissioning of high voltage SCADA systems on utility-scale renewable and substations projects, supporting EPC delivery under established standards and supervision.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
2-4 years of SCADA engineering experience with substations preferred.
Ability to read electrical single-line diagrams and equipment drawings.
Knowledge of protection relays and power meters.
Experience with coordinating with utilities and interconnects.
Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python; IEC61131-3.

Responsibilities

Review SCADA system requirements for substations on utility-scale projects.
Support HV SCADA design, development, and drawings to meet specs.
Verify point lists against relay and meter settings.
Program and commission RTACs, PDCs, and HMIs.
Coordinate network settings and IP assignments for substation equipment.
Troubleshoot communications between devices and controllers.
Provide technical support for diverse substation configurations.
Communicate with customers, vendors, and field technicians during commissioning.
Compare drawings to site conditions to ensure correct installation.
Travel ~20% onsite.
Promote NERC compliance and governance in programming/commissioning.
