Job summary

General Motors is seeking an experienced High Voltage Power Electronics PCB Designer to join the Traction Inverter Hardware team within the Energy Conversion Management Hardware Organization. You will design and optimize PCB layouts for inverters, collaborating with PCBA engineers and multiple design teams to ensure performance and manufacturability.

The role requires a BS in engineering, 4+ years in PCB layout, and experience with eCAD Xpedition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years working experience in PCB layout design.
• Experience in eCAD Xpedition tool.
• GM does not provide immigration sponsorship for this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop PCB layouts for inverters and collaborate with PCBA engineers.
• Create and verify PCB designs, perform DRC and DFM checks.
• Collaborate with circuit, system, and packaging engineers to optimize layouts.
• Select appropriate technology and processes for layout design based on project requirements.
• Work with SI/PI/EMC/Thermal/Mechanical SMEs to meet performance and reliability criteria.
