Job summary

Asplundh Electrical Testing (AET) is seeking a Test Technician for medium to high voltage work. The role focuses on hands-on testing, safety, and problem-solving in field environments.

You will perform HV tests (insulation resistance, power factor, TTR, winding and resistance checks), interpret drawings, and assist with system commissioning and maintenance. Travel to client sites is required and a valid driver’s license is essential.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years in electrical testing or substation maintenance.
• Hands-on with HV apparatus testing and common test equipment.
• NETA/NICET certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing and inspection of HV equipment and substation systems.
• Conduct insulation resistance, power factor, transformer turns ratio, winding resistance, and contact resistance tests.
• Assist with commissioning and maintenance of substation equipment up to HV levels.
• Support relay testing using standard industry test sets (Omicron CMC, Doble tools).
• Document test results and prepare field service reports.
