Job summary

ZealHire Inc. seeks a High Voltage Software Integration Engineer to join our embedded systems team in Long Beach, CA (onsite) or Allen Park, MI with relocation.

You will drive integration of battery management software at pack and vehicle levels, collaborate with electrical, hardware, and software teams, and develop firmware modules for HV systems. The role requires hands-on experience with embedded C/Python in RTOS environments, strong debugging skills, and knowledge of BMS architectures.

Qualifications

• Hands-on hardware bring-up, system debugging, and code optimization.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate complex technical concepts.
• Ability to deliver high-quality C code in a real-time embedded environment.
• Proficiency in embedded architectures from bare metal to RTOS.
• 5+ years of relevant embedded software experience.
• Experience with automotive high-voltage systems and BMS.

Responsibilities

• Integrate core battery controls and application software at pack and vehicle level.
• Coordinate BMS software development with defined requirements and system integration.
• Develop HV embedded firmware modules from base software to diagnostics.
• Verify performance of BMS algorithms using battery packs and cyclers.
• Tune calibration parameters to improve performance with hardware teams.
• Develop and maintain unit, MIL, and SIL tests for firmware.
• Define interfaces between application software and firmware.
• Collaborate across teams to implement algorithms and refine with field data.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
