Job summary

Vertiv seeks a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing to perform acceptance, commissioning and maintenance tests on electrical power systems up to 500kV. You will conduct analyses, calibrate protective relays and generate comprehensive reports for project teams.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Proficiency with listed test equipment (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF).
• Strong ability to read one-line, three-line diagrams and P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license with clean record; willingness to regional travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analyses.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, micoprocessor).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance tests on equipment.
• Analyze results and author detailed engineering reports with findings.
• Troubleshoot complex failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians; serve as technical lead on projects.
• Ensure compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, OSHA.
