EDP Renewables North America LLC in California is seeking a Senior High Voltage Technician to operate, inspect, and maintain plant equipment and systems at the Cantua Creek site, including substation equipment, switchgear, pad-mount transformers, and SCADA.

You will lead day-to-day operations, coordinate with contractors, manage spare parts, collect data for reports, perform safety and environmental compliance, and support on-call HV troubleshooting. Travel may be required.

Formación

• 1+ years of college or technical school education or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant solar or BESS energy experience.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and reporting systems.
• Ability to be the onsite point of contact and lead day-to-day operations.
• Experience with power plant operations, high-voltage switching, and maintenance.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure proper operation, inspection and maintenance of plant equipment and systems including substation, met towers, switchgear, pad mount transformers, SCADA systems, road maintenance, crop damage assessments, general building maintenance, etc.
• Effectively gather information regarding performance issues, diagnose, recommend, and implement solutions up to intermediate routine issues.
• Comply with environmental health and safety programs and act as a safety role model.
• Perform administrative duties including POD reports, work orders, SAP processing, fault reports, and QA/QC inspections.
• Identify gaps in safety standards and provide recommendations to management.
• Review service checklists and maintain punch lists for future work.
• Oversee contractor performance and assist in EDPR responsibilities such as pad mount transformer switching.
• Manage spare parts inventory for the facility and prepare reports for reporting requirements.
• Engage internal/external resources to correct performance issues and ensure reliable communication between inverters, substation, site office, and home office.
• Support surrounding EDPR sites with HV inspections and troubleshooting as needed.
• Perform switching and grounding of transformers and associated equipment.
• Provide 24/7 on-call remote HV support to the HV Team for complex troubleshooting and testing.
• Interface with local community members and landowners to establish and maintain reporting.
• Facilitate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting in line with operational and safety requirements.
• Direct work of Solar Techs when applicable and coordinate with HV/Operations managers on budgets.
