Job description

Organizational Location:

This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Human Resources Management (HRM), Talent Management Directorate (TMD), National Recruitment Division (NRD). The locations include:

Duties

You will use your skills and experience to identify recruitment needs based on hiring plans, current staffing levels, and future staffing needs of the assigned CBP Program. You are responsible for providing support to the Frontline Operations Branch or the Operations and Professional Recruitment Branch by performing recruiting functions that support talent acquisition objectives to ensure a mission-ready CBP workforce.

This position starts at a salary of $73,939.00 (GS-11, Step 1) to $115,213.00 (GS-12, Step 10).

Salary: The listed salary reflects the U.S. scale and will be adjusted for locality pay or cost of living expenses based on the duty location upon selection.

Requirements
Qualifications

Experience: To qualify for GS-11, you must have 1 year of specialized experience performing duties such as:

  • Using HR laws, regulations, and policies to resolve issues.
  • Providing customer service and guidance to individuals with varying technical backgrounds.
  • Maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicating effectively in writing and orally for briefings, reports, and correspondence.
  • Representing employers at conferences, job fairs, and recruitment events.

Education Substitution: A Ph.D., or three years of graduate education, or an LL.M. in an accredited institution, demonstrating relevant knowledge and skills.

Combining Education and Experience: Education and experience can be combined to meet qualifications, with specific instructions on how to calculate percentages and total qualification levels. Refer to the provided link for more information.

Experience for GS-12: Must have 1 year of specialized experience performing duties such as:

  • Resolving complex issues independently using HR laws and regulations.
  • Improving customer service through process improvements.

  • Developing high-level briefings and conducting presentations.
  • Public speaking and recruitment expertise at events.
