Summary

Duties

You will use your skills and experience to identify recruitment needs based on hiring plans, current staffing levels, and future staffing needs of the assigned CBP Program. You are responsible for providing direct support to either the Frontline Operations Branch or the Operations and Professional Recruitment Branch by performing recruiting functions in support of the talent acquisition process, aimed at meeting CBP's recruiting and hiring objectives and enabling a mission-ready CBP workforce.

This position starts at a salary of $73,939.00 (GS-11, Step 1) to $115,213.00 (GS-12, Step 10). The salary listed reflects the rest of U.S. scale and will be adjusted to meet the locality pay or cost of living expenses of the duty location upon selection. Major Duties for GS-11 include leveraging recruitment strategies, collaborating at job fairs, and developing initiatives to improve recruitment operations. For GS-12, duties involve identifying recruitment needs, developing new methods to resolve difficult problems, and preparing research findings for leadership.

Requirements

You must be a U.S. Citizen, males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service, and you must have primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years. You may be required to pass a background investigation and drug testing. CBP follows the DHS Drug-Free Workplace Plan. You will join a workforce dedicated to the mission while maintaining trust through adherence to ethics standards.

Additional requirements include compliance with E-Verify and a non-bargaining unit status. The position requires a one-year probationary period and may involve eligibility for the agency's Career Transition Assistance Program.

Qualifications

GS-11: One year of specialized experience performing duties like utilizing HR laws, providing customer service, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and demonstrating effective communication. Education substitution is possible with a Ph.D., or three years of graduate education.

GS-12: One year of specialized experience performing duties such as resolving complex issues independently, improving customer service, developing new methods, and conducting high-level briefings. Your resume must explicitly demonstrate these qualifications.
