The role collaborates with managers and employees to maintain personnel records, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive engagement. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in an HR role, proficiency with Paylocity or similar HRIS, and strong MS Excel/Outlook skills.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of HR experience required.
  • HRIS experience with Paylocity preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment laws and HR practices.
  • Strong MS Office skills, especially Outlook and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Handles inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers, routing complex issues appropriately.
  • Maintains employee files and DOT Driver Qualification Files.
  • Monitors driver violations, licenses, and DOT medical certificates.
  • Supports recruiting, onboarding, orientation, and training.
  • Provides administrative HR support including record-keeping and HRIS entry.
  • Participates in compensation, benefits, leave, performance, and safety programs.
  • Helps develop employee engagement plans and activities.
  • Attends disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Coordinates travel for employees as needed.
  • Tracks attendance and geofences, and stays updated on employment law.

Description

The primary focus of the HR Generalist is to support the daily operations of the Human Resources department, employees, and managers within the company.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Handles inquiries from applicants, employees, managers, and third parties referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Assists with maintaining employee personnel files and DOT Driver Qualification Files.
  • Keeps HR and Safety team informed of Driver violations, as well as expiring licenses and DOT medical certificates and endorsements.
  • Assists with recruiting, onboarding, orientation, and training.
  • Provides administrative support including record-keeping, file maintenance, invoice coding, and HRIS entry.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Creates and implements employee engagement plans and activities.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Books travel arrangements for employees as needed.
  • Monitors, maintains, and tracks employee geofences and attendance.
  • Maintains knowledge of regulatory changes, trends, and best practices in human resources and employment law.
  • Receives and processes incoming correspondence, notices, etc.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
Requirements
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a Human Resources role required.
  • Must have HRIS experience (Paylocity experience preferred, not required).
  • Demonstrated expertise in multiple HR disciplines, thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Suite (particularly Outlook and Excel) required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must be able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess excellent judgment to prioritize work, handle multiple projects, and meet objectives.
  • Exhibits positive attitude with a high level of integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
  • Ability to work well with others and contribute to a team environment.
  • This is a full-time, onsite position.
